"Mama Russ" or "Big Mama" as many people called her, not only was she a cook but she was a mentor to a lot of children in that school and in the community. She was a very active member of Metropolitan U.M. Church in Harrington, Delaware.  She served as a lay leader, coordinator of the United Methodist Women and as an usher.  In 2001 the Harrington Alumni Association honored her by establishing a scholarship in her name which was presented to a deserving student. In 2002 when she was in remission of cancer, she had to get a hip replacment. It didn't take her long to get back on her feet, to be in church every Sunday and to be back to work help children.  Margaret "Big Mama" Russ was always there to help anyone in the community who was in need.
